All of us here at Myolab have done extensive dry needling qualifications, and we find it very beneficial when used in the right circumstance combined with all of our other treatment techniques, and we can include it in your Myotherapy consultations here at the clinic!
What is Dry Needling?
Dry needling involves the insertion of a very fine sterile needle into your muscles, connective tissues or ligaments & tendons. It is often used to treat musculoskeletal injuries and pain complaints, by releasing trigger points (tight spots), and provide pain relief.
How we use Dry Needling?
Dry needling works due to the chemicals that are released when insertion of the needle occurs, which assists healing and pain reduction. Needling also affects the nervous system at every level, whereby when inserted into painful areas, or to the areas surrounding, a reduction in painful messages to the brain reduces, as well as decreases in muscle contractions (“tightness + knots”).
For us at Myolab, we utilize dry needling as an addition to treatment of your muscular pain, injuries, tightness, soreness, and pain relief.
